Mr Wu Xiaonian

The Chairman of Shanxi Jianbang Group Company, Mr Wu Xiaonian, graduated from Shanxi University of Finance and Economics in Shanxi Province China in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics. Mr Wu began his career with Shanxi Jianbang in August 1999 when he was appointed Deputy Chairman. In October, 2012, Mr Wu was appointed Chairman of Shanxi Tongcai Industry & Trade Co. Ltd, as subsidiary of Shanxi Jianbang which was responsible for steel production.

In 2005, Mr Wu studied for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at China’s prestigious Qinghua University. Mr Wu assumed the office of Chairman of Shanxi Jianbang Group in February 2008.

Since taking up this responsibility, production capacity of the steel making business has doubled; in addition, the range of products produced by Shanxi Jianbang has diversified from pig iron to other steel products including rebar, coiled reinforced bar, smooth round bar, and billet. Under the leadership of Mr Wu Xiaonian, Shanxi Jianbang has recently successfully increased production capacity from 3 million tons per annum to 7 million tons per annum, with an investment of RMB 400 million. As a result, sales revenue has increased by 200 percent. In 2010, Mr Wu led the group company into international market by cooperating with Top Iron Pty Ltd in iron ore exploration in the Mid-west of Western Australia.
